Don't ya just love long boring posts?

Last year I made a list of all the movies I saw, and I think it would be wise to back it up on a little thing called The Internet. Easy access from any location! You can't comprehend the joy I have from looking at this list, so it's really worth taking up three pages.

Can I marry Bill Condon please?

I saw Dreamgirls yesterday! It was EXCELLENT. Exciting! Shiny! Loud! Epic!
When I walked in I was thinking grumblestupidChicagostupidmusicalsIhateamericanidolgrumble. But, I saw the error of my ways in the first 10 minutes. I loved all the characters, all the acting, and all the sets and costumes. Good stuff, folks. It's enough even to celebrate Kinsey and Gods and Monsters without the garish stigma that is Chicago. Yay.

Just had to spread the word.

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but....

Okay, am I right or am I RIGHT? My GG predictions were pretty on the ball! Well, for best supporting actor I was like "Brad Pitt? Ben Affleck? Jack Nicholson? anybody but EDDIE MURPHY, right?" I guess nobody's perfect.

I would like to take a moment to shame 95% of the winners. YOU'RE BORING! YOU RAMBLE! I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE EXECUTIVES AT PARAMOUNT!! It was a sorry, sorry state of affairs for acceptance speeches. There were, oh, about four that didn't suck. (Half of those were Helen Mirren's). Where are George and Ang when you need them?

Ho hum. That time of year again?

Last year at this time I was having regular spaz attacks in anticipation of the Golden Globes. This year that's just not the case. The movies don't grab my attention! And worst of all, last year everyone was like: "Oh, what a crappy, crappy year for movies. Where is all the commercial fare?" But I for one liked Capote, and was more excited about it than I am for Bobby. With that said, I will commence with my guesses.

Best Drama: Could be The Departed, but I'm sticking with Babel.
Best Comedy/Musical: I hate this category, the dramas ALWAYS win! (Coughraycoughwalktheline) It'll be Dreamgirls for sure.
Best Actor, Drama: Sorry, Leo. I think Forest Whitaker.
Best Actress, Drama: Helen Mirren. Who else?
Best Actor, Comedy/Musical: I never thought I would say this, but Sacha Baron Cohen has a fighting chance. If not, maybe Will Ferrel.
Best Actress, Comedy/Musical: Umm... I have no idea. I might hazard a guess at Meryl Streep, but don't quote me on that.
Best Supporting Actor: Brad Pitt maybe? Could also be Ben Affleck.
Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Hudson. Take that Simon!

I was going to quietly "forget" about screenplay and director because I don't know, but they're too big to ignore.

Best Director: I think people will want to give Clint Eastwood something, because he has TWO big movies, but which way will the votes fall? I say Letters from Iwo Jima. But wait- who's that other guy? you know, what'shisface. Oh right. MARTIN SCORSESE. Is it finally his year?
Best Screenplay: Oh dear. I don't have a clue. I'm closing my eyes and guessing........The Queen. It could happen, right?

Yup, this is fun. I'm so confident.
